"KRAVIS" ITALY WEDDING - FUTURE WEDDING TRENDS?

Reality TV Star Kourtney Kardashian (now Kourtney Kardashian Barker) married Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker in a idilic Italian wedding this past weekend on the 22nd of May 2022. Weddings nowadays are seeming to differ from the traditional wedding standards and scenery more and more! This gothic inspired wedding is no different. Being held in Portofino, Italy by no other than luxury and controversial brand: Dolce & Gabbana, the Italian essence of portofino was well-captured in a beautiful old Italian castle.

A red theme was used, roses and Catholic symbolism was used to add to the gothic feel of the whole ceremony. Dating back to old Italian Catholicism. The wedding dress of choice has received a mix of opinions these last few days. The bride opted for a short, corseted, lingerie infused mini dress by D&G. With white lace peaking out of the underside of the corset. Many speculated that the bride would have possibly opted for a more gothic look, and would have decided to wear black. Leaving a lot of people shocked by her choice of a "classic" white wedding dress. The groom wore a classic black, well-tailored D&G suit with a clean cut appearance. The veil made headlines everywhere! The bride's huge veil had an appliqué of Virgin Mary on the back. This placement was strategic! Her husband, Travis Barker has a tattoo on this skull of the exact painting of Virgin Mary. A romantic gesture towards her husband.

Her sisters (Kim, Kendall, Khloe and Kylie) wore gothic lacy black gowns lack or spring floral dresses. This wedding was anything but typical and boring. Many of the guests including musician Machine Gun Kelly and his fiancee Megan Fox also opted for a darker set of colors when choosing their outfits. MGK opting for a sliver and black leopard printed suit. After the ceremony the two Leo-birds opted for white leather jackets with "MRS AND MR BARKER" written on the back. Kourtney then changed into a black version of her wedding dress with a black short veil and lacy black stockings. The wedding was held very private with elite guests. Legendary German photographer Ellen von Unwerth captured the Italian Getaway and the wedding ceremony up-close. It has been said that the pair have stayed in portofino after the wedding and we're all excited to see the honeymoon pictures and outfits!

I think this wedding is a perfect example of future trends amongst brides all across the world in future weddings. Maybe short is in and long gowns are out. Maybe black is the new white and Italy is the new wedding destination for celebs in the future.
